Adding an event calendar to your website or your Wordpress, Joomla! or e107 system

If you are an organisation, group or club and would like to add event listings, or partial listings for sporting events and races (e.g. half marathons, swimming, orienteering, kayaking etc) onto your own website.. no problem. Here are a some random examples, some with and without filters:

Note you don't have to use these layouts, those fields or even those fonts and colours - most people just use the default settings but you can customise how you want it!

It takes about 5 minutes and 4 lines of HTML to cut and paste. Alternatively we have pre-built modules for popular CMS systems like wordpress, joomla, mojoPortal or e107. Download a plugin for one of those systems, or the standard HTML page version below. Let us know if you need a plug-in for a different content management system.

There is no cost for the service although donations for running costs are always appreciated.

Downloads

1. Choose one of the following downloads.

2. Email yourself a webkey which allows you access. Be sure to read the rules on making a donation or provide a courtesy thank you link.

Users of the CMS plug-ins should also download the HTML API documentation which has useful information about customisation. Also note /v3/ is now the latest API version available and I've just updated the /v3/ images to support transparent background images which will make things look better on websites with non-white backgrounds.

Flexibility

There is a lot of flexibility in the API and plug-in's, so you can can control which event types (e.g. just orienteering events or just mountain biking events etc), which styles and activities are shown on your site, which location, region or country, and also control which features are displayed, for example the breadcrumb, area and style filters.

It can also be used for club-only race calendars so your members know information about your events - with or without showing general events. If you don't like the default layout then you can completely customise it including the colours and branding - by using your own stylesheet! Some examples are provided.

Terms and Conditions for use of the API/plugin services

Please read this entire agreement paying close attention to paragraph #2 and #3 otherwise you risk being shutdown, prosecuted, electrocuted, or in generally other bad things may happen. Ok, maybe not electrocuted.
